Editorial policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

Who this covers

This policy applies to every page published under clearpath (UK rehab) — substance guides, condition guides, tools, cost pages, comparisons, city pages and clinic profiles. It sits alongside our medical review process, our corrections policy and our privacy notice.

Sourcing

Clinical claims (withdrawal timelines, symptom risk, treatment pathways) are sourced from:

  • NICE guidelines and NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries.
  • NHS.uk service pages and BNF (British National Formulary).
  • Office for Health Improvement & Disparities (OHID) and NHS Digital datasets.
  • Peer-reviewed UK studies (BMJ, Lancet, Drug and Alcohol Dependence).
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC) provider records for clinic-level information.

Where a claim varies between sources we say so and link the sources.

Plain-English rules

  • Sentences under 25 words where possible. No jargon without a short definition.
  • UK-first: NHS terminology, £ prices, UK legal status, UK regulators (CQC, GMC, BACP).
  • No emotive marketing language on clinical pages ("miracle", "guaranteed", "cure").
  • Every clinical fact is attributable to a source, on request.

Use of AI

We use AI-assisted drafting for first-pass structure, plain-English rewrites and metadata. Every published page is edited by a member of the editorial team and, if it contains clinical claims, reviewed under our medical review process before it goes live. No page is published from raw AI output.

Independence

Clinics and therapy providers cannot pay for editorial placement. Referral fees paid by clinics when a lead books an assessment fund the site, but do not influence which clinics appear in guides, comparisons or tool results. If a page's rankings are influenced by commercial factors (e.g. availability of same-day admission) we say so on the page itself.

Updating

Every substance, condition and tool page carries a visible "last reviewed" date. Pages are re-reviewed at least every 12 months, and immediately when NICE, NHS or MHRA guidance changes materially. When we make a substantive change we update the date; minor typo fixes do not.

User-generated content

This site does not publish user reviews of clinics or forum content. Testimonials are only shown once we hold written consent from the person quoted and the clinic they name.
