For criminal defence firms

Rehab assessments and placements for clients facing sentencing

Refer a client, and we arrange a confidential addiction assessment, a court-ready report and — where funding allows — a written offer of a residential bed before the hearing. Free to your firm.

Clearpath UK Rehab is principally a referral service. We do not own or operate any clinic, and we are paid a fee by partner clinics when someone we refer is admitted.

1. Refer

Send the client's details and the hearing date. One email or one call.

2. Assess

We arrange an independent assessment and a written report you can serve.

3. Place

Where funded, a named CQC-registered clinic confirms a bed and start date in writing.

Refer a client or set up a firm-wide arrangement

Tell us about your firm and the type of cases you handle. For an urgent case with a listed hearing, call us instead.

Clearpath UK Rehab is a referral service and is paid a fee by partner services when a person we refer takes up a placement. Applying does not create an agreement — we'll send terms and a rate card first.

We use these business contact details only to assess your application and contact you about a partnership. See our privacy notice.

Common questions

What do you actually provide to a defence firm?

A confidential addiction assessment arranged with an independent UK assessor, a written report you can put before the court, and where the client is self- or family-funding, a written offer of a residential placement with a CQC-registered provider. We coordinate the logistics; you retain sentencing strategy.

How quickly can an assessment happen?

Where the client is contactable and funding is clear, an assessment is usually arranged within a few working days. Tell us the hearing date at the point of referral and we work back from it.

Does it cost the firm or the client anything to refer?

Referring costs your firm nothing. Clearpath is paid a fee by the partner treatment service when a client we refer takes up a placement. Assessment and treatment fees are set by the assessor or clinic and quoted to the client directly before anything is booked.

Do you cover DRR and ATR cases?

Yes. Most cases we see are Drug Rehabilitation Requirement or Alcohol Treatment Requirement candidates. We can also arrange privately funded residential treatment to run alongside a community requirement, which is often what makes the proposal credible at sentencing.

Can you take legal aid clients?

We can arrange assessments and signpost free NHS community treatment for any client. Private residential placement needs a funding route — self-pay, family, insurance or an exceptional local-authority placement — so we tell you honestly at triage what is realistic.

What do you need from us to start?

Client name and contact number, substance, hearing date and court, whether a pre-sentence report has been requested, and the likely funding route. Nothing else.
